Princess Inspired Easter Baskets!

More of these adorable Princess inspired Easter basket DIY videos are headed your way at the end of the week! I was so thrilled with how the Rapunzel inspired basket turned out, that I also made a tutorial for Anna & Elsa from Frozen Fever!

The basic instructions for each basket are the same, with some slight differences to the colors used, braids, and also embellishments used - however once you have the skirt technique down, the possibilities are endless!

Here are the video tutorial instructions for the first basket I made, inspired by Rapunzel!

I found all of the supplies, along with the baskets at Hobby Lobby and also had the yarn on hand from previously making the princess dress-up braids.

I've also had requests for an Ariel one, American Girl inspired basket, and also ideas for boys baskets - so I'm hoping to work on those in the next week or so! What kind of Easter basket DIY designs would you like to see or are you working on? If you make your own Princess inspired basket, I would love to see on Instagram! Tag me @beingmommywithstyle or #beingmommywithstyle to check them out!

Princess Inspired Easter Basket DIY Craft - RAPUNZEL Basket!

This is probably one of my FAVORITE crafts that I've done recently! I was inspired to start working on Easter crafts and one of the things I wanted to do was turn regular Easter baskets into Princess inspired baskets! This is the first one that I did, and I thought it turned out adorable!

The Rapunzel inspired basket uses two of the craft techniques that I've used in the past to do DIYs, and puts them together! I previously have made the girls tulle dress up skirts and also yarn braided dress up braids - this basket puts both of those concepts together on one basket!

You can follow the quick and easy tutorial on how to make your own princess inspired basket in this video!

What type of princess basket would you want to make?

Craft: Crochet Headband Tutus for Toddlers & Children!

Our crochet headband craft tutorial has long been one of our highest viewed DIY projects on my BeingMommywithStyle YouTube Channel! It is a really great craft that even young children can do, and simple for adults to make as well!

As you can tell by the instructions, all you need is a crochet headband (found at many crafting stores), pieces of tulle cut into your chosen colors, and that's it! Simple and new sew!

We will be doing an Easter Basket variation of this that I will be sharing in the upcoming weeks, and also be modifying that Easter basket to use for princess parties I will be hosting in the Spring!

What princess would you make a skirt inspired by?

American Girl Surprise - Lea's Rainforest House! ♥ beingmommywithstyle

It's time for another AMERICAN GIRL SURPRISE!!! :) This time, I'm unveiling the American Girl Lea's Rainforest House (or Beach House as it's called on some materials & the instructions!) to my doll enthusiasts! I knew that Lea's story in the rainforest that included a lot of different animals would be a huge hit with my girls. One of our favorite things to do is go to the zoo and I love that this brings animal learning right into our home!

The shower on the side of the house was immediately a huge hit with them, as well as the accessories - the parrot actually gets a lot of play! Along with the laptop, table & chair set, and food. Surprisingly, I thought they would use the loft bed more than they have! It works great for storage though.

This summer we will be doing a Rainforest Animals learning unit and working in our AG Girl of the Year 2016 items into the learning fun!

What is your favorite part about Lea's Rainforest House?

Alphabet Preschool Letter Crafts - A to Z!

One of my most popular posts on my old blog, Mom's Got a Brand New Bag, continues to be about our Alphabet Preschool Letter Crafts, A through Z! This post still gets views daily and monthly - and also happens to be about some of my favorite preschool credits I've ever done with the girls! I wanted to re-share these great crafts and post here on Being Mommy with Style, since that is the YouTube channel we had all of our activity blogs on. (I had not yet stated this blog, with the same name as my channel!) I am getting ready to start these letter activities all over again with my younger daughter, Natalie - so it was timely to re-share these great letter ideas!

For the first 26 weeks of our original run of Preschool at Home, we had a new theme and letter each week! I tried to tie in the theme with the concept behind the letter, although some weeks it was easier than others!

I thought it worked perfectly and it was a great way to reinforce the letter of the week, as well as an additional way to talk about things that started that letter. Some of Bella's favorites were the 'I is for Ice Cream' craft, 'L is for Lion', 'T is for Tree', and 'X is for Xylophone'! I helped with the cutting and some marker work for details, she was in charge of glueing the letters down to the page, picking out background paper colors, and arranging everything together. By the end of the first 26 weeks, she had become a pro at putting the letters together!

Here's a closer look at each of the letters!

A is for Alligator
B is for Bear
C is for Cat
D is for Dog
E is for Elephant

F is for Fox
G is for Giraffe
H is for Horse
I is for Ice Cream
J is for Jaguar

K is for Kangaroo
L is for Lion
M is for Mouse
N is for Nest
O is for Owl

P is for Parrot
Q is for Quail
R is for Rabbit
S is for Snail
T is for Tree

U is for Umbrella
V is for Vase
W is for Watermelon
X is for Xylophone
Y is for Yak

Z is for Zebra!

I also did a video showing all of the letters up close as well!

American Girl Spring Doll House Finds!! ♥ February 2016 | beingmommywith...

We found so many great things at Hobby Lobby that were all perfectly doll sized!! The bench was my absolute favorite, and most of the things were in the "Spring" section that was just newly put out - so you might check your local Hobby Lobby to see what they have in stock!

Natalie's favorite was the little pink trash can! I love that the lid is attached, so there is hopefully less chance of it being loss in the playroom abyss! Also, The planters we found at the Dollar Tree are the perfect size to "plant" the felt flowers from HL in them! The dolls will also have their own Easter baskets! ;)

We will be making a "roof top garden" on the top of the IKEA STuva piece that ordered, and I will be sharing that garden once its complete! These accessories will be sure to give it lots of character and add to the spring feel!
