Decorating for Halloween with At Home Stores

I partnered with At Home Stores to create this spooky Halloween table centerpiece, perfect for Halloween celebrating!

With items that came in around $25, it didn't break the bank and I was able to finish off our table look with a little bit of whimsy, a little bit of spooky, and a lot of STYLE! I loved the $12.99 "fishbowl holder" platform as it was called on the receipt, perfect to create a crystal look with a $3.99 bowl out of the glassware section. I thought it had a great Halloween essence to it!

I added a spooky spider web table mat underneath, along with a whimsical orange spider as a side piece - both were only $3.99. Lastly, I couldn't pass up all of the great skeleton items they had this season! They had a full set of "Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" skeletons to use as accents, and I grabbed one of those for the other side of the centerpiece!

I finished off the table look with a skeleton dessert plate, cute Halloween napkins, some sparkling blackberry juice in wine glasses, and of course... macarons!! My favorite!!

Check out this table look in action on YouTube!

My reason for decorating for Halloween is I love creating a festive space for my family! What's YOUR reason?!? #AtHomeStores #MyReason

Disney Countdown Craft Ideas

Our Disney Vacation countdown is ON and I wanted to share some fun and easy DIY craft ideas that you can do with your kids to make the countdown FUN and interactive!! I made three simple countdown crafts that all cost very little money - and the free printable for the Disney Vacation countdown frame is at the bottom of the post!

The first craft is a printable piece of paper that I put inside a Dollar Tree frame and this craft cost me $1 total!! The dry erase marker is from the Target Dollar Spot and we already had that on hand! Just print off the free countdown printable below, put it in a frame, and use a dry erase marker on the glass of the frame. It wipes right off and is a great way to keep track of your countdown... even if you are 365 days away!

The second craft is a paper construction paper chain that was FREE, because we already had the construction paper on hand! You can find construction paper cheaply at the Dollar Tree or at Target! We made a Mickey chain, but how could would it be to do a "Disneybound" chain and make the colors for different princesses or other characters?? The possibilities are endless! You could do to shades of purple and yellow for Rapunzel - red, green, and purple for Ariel with a tail - yellow, blue, and white or brown for Belle, etc...

The third countdown idea is a memory board which would be great for families that have been on trips to Walt Disney World or a Disney vacation before! You can cover each number on the board as your are counting down with memories from previous trip, and each day get to relive on of your favorite Disney memories! My girls especially loved this one!

Check out the video on YouTube for more info on how to do these fun countdown crafts!

Grand Opening of Chick-fil-A at Somerset Collection

Natalie and I went to the Grand Opening of the new Chick-fil-A at Somerset Collection on October 13, 2016 and it was quite an event!! We had tons of fun and enjoyed being a part of the Grand Opening! The day previous I attended a media event and was able to get a sneak peek of the delicious offerings the Somerset location will have on the menu!

We got to sample the yogurt parfait and it was delicious!

A great selection of grilled chicken items!

Yum! Their lemonade is the BEST!

We also had a quick facility tour where we could check out the behind the scenes operations that go on at Chick-fil-A restaurants! I wasn't able to take any pictures of their machinery... but they did leave this great message made of condiments to show how excited Chick-fil-A is to be in Troy, MI!

After the facility tour, I went up to the parking garage roof top to check out where there were already people camping out to receive one of the 100 gift cards Chick-fil-A was giving away during the Grand Opening! By 8:30pm the night before the opening, they already had 110 campers set up and ready to wait through the night to receive their gift cards!

Check out the highlights of my media tour event here:

The following day, Natalie was off of school so she was able to go to the Grand Opening of the Somerset Collection Chick-fil-A! I knew she would be excited to see "The Cows"... you know how we love our characters!!

Grand Opening fun!

We cheered on the parade of customers who were the first 100 people in line, that all received a gift card with 52 free #1 Combo Chicken meals on it - a "Year's Worth of Free Chicken!"- took some photos with the Chick-fil-A Cows, and then watched the official opening of the store!

This is one of our favorite places to get lunch and the girls love Chick-fil-A kids' meals! Thank you to franchise owner Blake Dennard for hosting us, I know we will be visiting the Somerset Collection location frequently!

** Disclosure: I am a member of the Chick-fil-A Mom Panel and occasional receive samples and products to review! We love their food and are looking forward to being able to now having a wider selection of Chick-fil-A food near us! All opinions are my own

Kid's Fall Craft - Gratitude Tree

We made this quick and easy Fall Kid's Craft as a part of a Kid's Craft Collaboration hosted by BarefootIzzy on YouTube!

We made a Gratitude Tree centerpiece for our dining room table and the girls loved putting it together! On each leaf, we wrote (or drew a picture of) something we were thankful for - and filled the tree with leaves! Watch how it came together in our video!

Check out the playlist HERE for more great crafts from the collab!

More Fall Fun headed your way SOON!! I'm so excited to be getting our decorations back - finally!! - at the end of the week!!

Fall Fashion for Moms!

Last week, I shared some of my Fall Fashion Favorites for Moms on my YouTube channel and also what is on my wishlist for Fall! I love shopping for new clothing at this time of year, and remember it being a favorite time of year to go shopping for back to school and look for pieces that would last throughout the colder months. Scarves, boots, and sweaters have always been staples for this time of year!

I picked up a few things at Kohl's also that I share in the video and I'm especially glad that I found the great Apt 9 capri pants that double as jeans to go with boots!

The past few years I've started gravitating towards wearing a lot of neutrals in my wardrobe that can be mixed and matched for a variety of events, yet every day appropriate for those mom tasks like school pickup time. Black and gray have been my "go to" base colors that I wear a lot of in the Fall and Winter, then add in pops of color with scarves, cardigans, and other accessories!

Booties are high on my list of things to add to my wardrobe this year. I feel like I have comfort and functional boots covered this year... and want to turn to adding some more variety in my "fashionable when it ISN'T snowing" part of my show wardrobe. I've looked a variety brands and actually found a number of boots within a wide price range that look promising!

These boots from Sonoma brand at Kohl's don't break the bank at a sale price of $34.99 (!!!), come in a variety of great colors, and also got great reviews saying they were super comfy! I think these are going to go on my "must buy" list for sure!!

On the opposite side of the spectrum, these Vionic boots I spied at Zappos.com are super cute, I'm loving the zipper detail - and they are also supposed to have a special orthopedic design that allows your foot to be supported comfortably... However the price is a bit more expensive at $159.95.

As always for me, cardigans and flyaway cardigans are a great grab and go option that I feel can add a pop of color or pull together an outfit easily for a "mom on the go". These long cardigans from Bobeau at Nordstrom are my absolute favorite that I've talked about in a number of videos. I have these in a range of colors and they've held up for multiple seasons! This season, I'm planning on adding in a few more basic neutral colors to use over printed blouses!

I will be sure to share a haul of the items that I pick up for my wardrobe! Also, be sure to follow me on Instagram @beingmommywithstyle - as I will be sharing my outfits there from time to time as well!
