Pandora - The World of Avatar opening May 27th!

Pandora - The World of Avatar comes alive at Disney's Animal Kingdom! Disney just officially announced that the new Pandora area will open on May 27th, 2017, just in time for guests to enjoy the new area all summer long!

We are currently at Disney Social Media Moms Celebration taking place at Walt Disney World and aboard Disney Cruise Line, and I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak of the new Pandora area that is opening soon! The features are larger than life and bring the World of Pandora alive with elements from their culture including food, plants, creatures, and the very intriguing luminescence feature. Guests will be fully immersed in the Pandora experience and feel like they are right in the middle of the action the entire time they are journeying through the new land.

The new area will feature a new quick service restaurant, the Sati'li Cateen, enjoy the atmosphere for refreshments at Pongu Pongu (which means "Party! Party!" by the way!), and shop for Na'vi items at the new store Windtraders.

The new area will feature some exhilarating rides that capture the essence of Pandora and look amazing! On our sneak peek we weren't able to ride any of the rides, but the concept looks absolutely breathtaking and I cannot wait to try them out on our summer trip!

Float down the river on the Na'vi River Journey, ride atop a Mountain Banshee on Avatar Flight of Passage, and enjoy the bioluminescent rainforests all throughout the new Pandora area. It really looks spectacular, I think the bioluminescence feature may be the most exciting part for me, as it brings a whole new element to enjoying Animal Kingdom at night!

Animal Kingdom is one of our family's favorite theme parks at Walt Disney World and we are loving all of the new night time features! In a future blog post, I will share our experience of seeing a special preview of Rivers of Light! I was able to take pictures and video, and it was a stunning experience with song, light, water, and dance - that is truly unlike any other night time show I've seen!
